The Write Brothers® Screenplay Competition
We are currently accepting entries for the upcoming 2014 Write Brothers Screenplay Competition. We accept both domestic and international submissions.

The Write Brothers® Screenplay Competition, in partnership with the Canada International Film Festival, was created to discover emerging independent writers and talented, new voices in scriptwriting. Over $6,000 in cash and prizes will be given away to the Winners and Finalists of this year's competition.
10 selected Official Competition Finalists and 3 Top Winners will be announced at the Canada International Film Festival Awards Ceremony.

To be eligible for competition, submit your completed feature or short length screenplay using the entry form found below.
Digital Submissions
We do accept digital or electronic screenplay entries. If you are submitting your screenplay electronically, please email us the completed Entry Form along with a digital copy of your screenplay. We prefer PDF but can also accept Movie Magic, Final Draft, or Word formats.

Rules and Regulations for Screenplay Entry
If a submission involves two or more writers as applicants, the award will be divided equally among them.
If you are submitting your screenplay electronically, please email us the completed Entry Form along with a digital copy of your screenplay. We prefer PDF but can also accept Movie Magic, Final Draft, or Word formats.
Awards are based on overall merits of the screenplays.
Entry fee is nonrefundable.
Entrants retain all rights to their screenplays.
Screenplays must be original work. We do accept adaptations.
More than one entry may be submitted. Each must be submitted separately.
Script materials will not be returned.
The selection committees' and juries' decisions are final.
We accept submissions via mail and email.
Screenplays being sent by mail from outside Canada should be be clearly labeled on the package: "NO COMMERCIAL VALUE - CULTURAL PURPOSES ONLY".
Awards and Official Selections are based on overall merits of the screenplays and are at the sole discretion of the jury.
Once you have submitted your screenplay, we cannot accept a new or updated version. If you wish to submit a new version you will have to re-submit the project using the same entry process.

CIFF reserves the right to make any necessary changes in event scheduling or programming.
Please do not send press kits with your entry.
Entrants agree to indemnify and hold us, including our employees, our officers, and our partners and affiliates harmless against all claims arising out of entry or participation in the Canada International Film Festival.
All responses by CIFF will be made by email.
Official Selections will be contacted approximately one month prior to the festival.
By submitting your film or screenplay to the Canada International Film Festival you agree that you have read, understood, and agree to all the aforementioned festival rules and guidelines.
