Awards and Prizes
Each year the Canada International Film Festival awards prizes in several competitive categories to celebrate and recognize outstanding achievement in filmmaking, writing and acting as selected by our Official Jury.
This year we will award over $7,000 in prizes to our winners and official finalists.
In addition to the juried awards, the festival also presents an annual Audience Award to the film with the highest rating as determined by festival audiences.
Write Brothers Screenplay Software Packages
The top 3 Winners of the The Write Brothers® Screenplay Competition will receive software packages consisting of Movie Magic Screenwriter, Dramatica Pro, and Storyview Software Suite courtesy of The Write Brothers®, makers of the industry's best screenwriting software.
10 Official Finalists of the Screenplay Competition will receive Dramatica Software courtesy of The Write Brothers®, makers of the industry's best screenwriting software.
Cash prizes of are awarded for the Grand Jury Prize, presented to the best film in competition among all categories, and the Grand Prize Winner of the Screenplay Competition.
Gulf Islands Film and Television School
The winner of the Best Short Film Award will receive one full price tuition scholarship to the Gulf Islands Film and Television School.
The winners of Best Documentary and Best Documentary Short will each receive a half price tuition scholarship to the Gulf Islands Film and Television School.
The scholarships can be used for our 2014 spring, summer, fall programs.
